the movie maufacturing consent is about how chomsky is involved in politics. he i very left winged in his views and it shows in the movie. i thought the movie was very boring and hard to follow. this caused me not to pay attention to the movie that often.
propogand is to democracy as violence is to dictatorship
the purpose of a dictatorship is to keep control of the people. many ways to keep control is to show dominance over the people even if violence is needed to keep control. democracy is free speech and propoganda is used as free speech.
