1. man who accused ex-syracuse basketball coach of mollestation admits to lying-  The fourth accuser to come forward in the sexual molestation allegations against former Syracuse men's basketball assistant coach Bernie Fine has admitted to lying Floyd VanHooser, currently in state prison, wrote a letter obtained by the Syracuse Post-Standard and said he was never abused by Fine as a child. He said he made up the lies about Fine in part as revenge because the former coach would not hire a lawyer to help with his latest criminal action. 
2. ravens beat texans 20-13-the baltimore ravens played great defense and not so great offense the texans on the other hand played good offense and it was a battle right until the end.
3. teen awarded 12.6 million in vacation lawsuit-  A teenager who lost all four limbs because of a vaccination error has won a $12.6 million award in a lawsuit against the University of Miami medical school.

1. teenage sailor nears end of trip round the world-teenage sailor laura dekker is nearing the finish of her solo sailing trip around the world.  reports say she is in the same spirits as when she began the trip, good. truancy officers tried hard to not let her go but she took her studies with her.
2. america boy, 10, takes fathers car for a joy ride in hong kong- a 10 year old boy from america was in china with his dad when he took his dads maserati for a joy ride. he was dettained wednesday after police found out about it. 
3. after being married for 6 decades couple dies hours apart- Richard Trimmer, 81, had been hospitalized after a fall when his children told him Sunday that his wife of 61 years, Nancy, had died in her sleep. Richard Trimmer was dead a few hours later, succumbing to lung cancer.

1. man kills 3 relatives, himself after possible hostage standoff- A family dispute ended when a man apparently shot and killed his wife's two sisters and his son before fatally shooting himself, authorities said.Officers had been waiting for hours since being called about a possible hostage situation at the house near Logan, about 50 miles southeast of Columbus. A person who had been held hostage had been able to flee, the sheriff told reporters.
2. town seeks help weathering harsh winter (even by Alaska standards)- in the town of cordova in Alaska they have recieved 10 feet in the past two weeks bringing the total to 15 feet this winter. the national guard braught in food and water to help out. the snow collapsed roofs and made avalanches.
3. alabama win the bcs national championship- in the first shutout in a bcs bowl alone let alone the national championship alabams stout defense stop the powerful offense of the lsu tigers.even though many were pulling for the tigers to win because of the talk of the shared national title.

1. tebow leads broncos to playoff victory in overtime- last night on NBC came a great wildcard playoff game between the denver broncos and the Pittsburgh steelers. tim tebow let the broncos to overtime were it only took him 11 seconds to seal the deal and take the bronco to fox borrow stadium to play tom brady and the patriots. the 11 second play consisted of tim tebow throwing a great pass to wide reciever demaryius thomas.
2.  13 bodies found at a gas station in mexico- police in western mexico found 13 bodies in a gas station  in the state of Michoacan. Michoacan is home base to The Knights Templar cartel, a pseudo-religious gang specializing in methamphetamine production, drug smuggling, extortion and other crimes.  
3. new ford fusion plug-in hybrid to get 100 mpge-  The all-new 2013 Fusion sedan introduced today at the North American International Auto Show will be available in several versions, including a plug-in hybrid that Ford says will achieve an electric-only mode fuel economy rating equivalent to 100 mpg, bettering the smaller Chevrolet Volt rating of 93 mpge.

2. three sought in philadelphia beating after NHLs winter classic-  after the outdoor winter game on january second between the new york ranger and philadelphia flyers there were some tense fans.  one man was beat by three while he was on the ground being kicked.

1. iphone flashlight helps save lost hiker in maryland- a man and his dog went hiking in maryland on new years eve. he became lost and thanks to his iphone he could call the police and have a police helicopter come save him. through the whole process he texted his wife and told her he was alright. when the police helicopter reached him he used the flashlight on his iphone to lure in the copter.
2. romney edges out santorum to win iowa caucasus-  mitt romney and rick santorum went toe to toe in the iowa caucuses last night. the voting was very close and mitt romney eventually won by 8 votes and technically by percentages they tied at 25%.
3. library sends police to collect overdue books from 5 year old-  A little girl reportedly was scared to tears after a library ordered police officers to her home to collect overdue books. Shannon Benoit, the mother of 5-year-old Hailey answered the door to Charlton Police Sergeant Dan Dowd who was sent to let her know that her daughter had two books overdue which had to be either returned or paid for.
